  • A novel low-complexity BS selection scheme is proposed in the context of next-generation cellular networks. The users and the BSs are equipped with sectorized antennas and the users have the ability to perform successive interference cancellation (SIC). The achieved network performance is evaluated by using proposed technique in the context of three pre-selection policies that are based on: 1) the Euclidean distance, 2) the averaged received signal power, and 3) random selection.
