Main Reference PaperEngage others or leave it to the source? On optimal message replication in DTNs under imperfect cooperation, IEEE Transaction on Mobile Computing, May 2016 [NS2].
  • The optimal replication policy is motivated by its relation to the two popular message replication modes. The replication mode selection as a finite-horizon Continuous Time Markov Decision process with restricted decision epochs formulated and solve it for the optimal policy. This turns out to be deterministic and coincides with the binary (source) replication mode for small (large) numbers of misbehaving nodes. For intermediate values, it prescribes that nodes should be splitting the replication budget in different ways depending on each process state.
