  • This paper presents an online greedy scheduling algorithm Attractiveness-Based Blind Scheduling Heuristic(ABBSH), a new algorithm with several variants for scheduling batch tasks with awareness of renewable energy and electricity cost. The scheduler, contrary to other approaches, never deals directly with the model of the electrical infrastructure, but instead uses partial and abstracted information. A separate system, managing the renewable sources, provides an arbitrary objective function, which is used to guide the scheduling heuristic. It implemented the approach in a data center simulator and evaluated it by considering a small-scale center powered with solar panels and connected to the electrical grid.
