  • It proposes a holistic strategy for a joint task offloading and resource allocation in a multi-cell Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) network. The underlying optimization problem is formulated as a Mixed-Integer Non-linear Program (MINLP) to solve to optimal. The approach decomposes the original problem into a Resource Allocation (RA) problem with fixed task offloading decision and a Task Offloading (TO) problem that optimizes the optimal-value function corresponding to the RA problem. Also decouple the RA problem into two independent subproblems, as the uplink power allocation and the computing resource allocation, and address them using quasi-convex and convex optimization techniques. Finally, it proposes a novel heuristic algorithm that achieves a suboptimal solution for the TO problem in polynomial time.
