  • The route maintenance protocol have to balance the amount of control overhead and the provision of appropriate alternative paths. The proposed route maintenance protocol exploits the Bio inspired algorithm. The proposed method diffuses the pheromones around the shortest path between the source and the destination through overhearing and message exchanges. Thereafter, a probabilistic path exploration is executed within the one-hop region on the basis of diffused pheromone. This paves a way to discover an alternate routes to the destination.
