Scope: The Journal of Logic, Language and Information (JoLLI) is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed academic publication that focuses on the interaction between logic, linguistics, and information science. The journal aims to explore the formal aspects of language and information processing and the logical foundations of these disciplines.
Logical Foundations:
Research on the foundations of logic, including classical logic, non-classical logics, modal logics, and temporal logics.
Studies on the applications of logical systems to the analysis of language and information.
Formal Semantics:
Advances in the formal semantics of natural languages, including model-theoretic and proof-theoretic approaches.
Research on compositional semantics, dynamic semantics, and the semantics of discourse and dialogue.
Philosophical Logic:
Studies on philosophical aspects of logic and their implications for linguistics and information theory.
Research on topics such as vagueness, paradoxes, and the philosophy of language.
Computational Linguistics:
Advances in computational models of natural language processing, including syntax, semantics, and pragmatics.
Research on algorithms and systems for parsing, generation, and translation of natural languages.
Information Theory:
Studies on formal approaches to information theory, including information flow, information retrieval, and information integration.
Research on the quantification, transmission, and processing of information in various contexts.
Logic and Artificial Intelligence:
Advances in the application of logic to AI, including knowledge representation, automated reasoning, and intelligent agents.
Research on logic-based approaches to machine learning, planning, and decision-making.
Formal Pragmatics:
Studies on the formal modeling of pragmatic phenomena, such as implicature, presupposition, and speech acts.
Research on the interaction between context and meaning in natural language.
Formal Syntax:
Advances in the formal analysis of syntactic structures in natural languages.
Research on generative grammar, syntactic parsing, and the interface between syntax and semantics.
Cognitive Science:
Studies on the cognitive aspects of logic, language, and information processing.
Research on the mental representation and processing of linguistic and logical information.
Formal Approaches to Communication:
Advances in the formal modeling of communication processes, including dialogue systems and multi-agent communication.
Research on the logical and informational aspects of human and machine communication.
