Contiki Cooja Simulator Projects in RPL Routing Protocol
Tools Languages:  Contiki-Cooja / Contiki NG simulator, Front End: Java, Back End: C
Software Requirement:  Vmware workstation player, Instant Contiki-3.0
Aim and Objectives:
This project aims to design a novel scheme for RPL to handle mobility in wireless sensor networks using the contiki-cooja simulator.
Contribution:
1. This project investigates the problem of supporting mobility when using RPL.
2. It enhances the RPL behavior in healthcare and medical applications to be adapted to a hybrid topology that supports the short mobility of some sensors.
3. The proposed trickle timer algorithm uses a new approach based on the time to leave to prevent mobile node disconnections.
4. The RPL protocol is improved by changing the metric used to elect the preferred parent.
5. The proposed approach is validated through extensive simulations results are presented.
Performance Evalution:
The evaluation of this proposed approach to handling mobility in WSN is presented by considering healthcare applications and general cases. Simulations were conducted on Cooja/contiki simulator with random topology for 20 and 40 nodes scenarios.
Performance Metrics:
• PDR
• Energy Consumption
• Throughput
• Delay
• Control Packet Overhead
• Execution Time
• CPU Energy Consumption
• Power Consumption
