Cooja Project for Cross-Layer RPL Objective Function to Achieve Energy Efficiency in IoT

Research Area:

IoT

Research Topics:

Contiki Cooja Simulator Projects in RPL Routing Protocol

Tools Languages:  Contiki-Cooja / Contiki NG simulator, Front End: Java, Back End: C

Software Requirement:  Vmware workstation player, Instant Contiki-3.0

Aim and Objectives:  To implement cross-layer RPL objective functions to achieve energy efficiency in IoT devices.

Contribution:
1. This project-s main contribution is enabling the nodes to route the packets across the DODAG in an IoT infrastructure.
2. Second is the significant contribution of the number of transmitted packets on the amount of consumed energy in the nodes.

Performance Evalution:
This work has exploited 25 and 50-node scenarios using the cooja simulator to validate the performance.
Performance Metrics:
 •  Packet Delivery Ratio
 •  Control Packet Overhead
 •  Energy Consumption
 •  CPU Energy Consumption
 •  Throughput
 •  Delay
 •  Execution Time
