Agriculture is not just a sustaining source in present times, but it has become much greater than that. Agricultural productivity reflects a broad part of economic output, which is the major cause that recognition of disease plays a major task. The quantity and quality of agricultural productivity gets affected and reduced by plant diseases. Nowadays, in monitoring large area of crops, detection of diseases of plants receives much greater attention. The symptoms and signs of diseases are apparent in distinct plant parts, but among all different parts, the most noticeable parts for disease detection are considered to be leaves. In Agriculture, the potential applications of Pattern Recognition are various, but this paper aims at the detection and classification of the diseases. By using the image processing techniques, diseases of plant leaves can be recognized which requires the following steps as; Image Acquisition, Pre-Processing, Segmentation, Feature Extraction and Classification.
