Research Area:  Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks
Vehicular ad-hoc network is one of the networks based on wireless sensor networks which, nowadays, plays a crucial role in life. Due to the autonomy of each vehicle, trust management can prevent many probable attacks. Every vehicle must be able to announce its trust; however, this announcement makes other vehicles able to locate that vehicle as well. Therefore, the present study is aimed at presenting a new method to preserve privacy and stop tracing the vehicle after trust announcement. In the proposed method, roadside unit, while changing the vehicle’s pseudonym, announces its trust with uncertainty. The trust announced by the roadside unit is not related to the previous trust, therefore, it would be impossible for other vehicles to recognize that vehicle. The simulation results revealed that it is impossible to recognize the vehicle through trust, also, the lack of the announced trust is trustworthy and capable of being used in calculations.
