The Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a significant research topic of intelligent Transportation System (ITS). The number of vehicles is increased along the roadside day by day owing to the population growth and development of the smart world. The high populated vehicles on the road necessitate on-road wireless communication technology to make the journey safe and comfortable. The VANETs enable wireless communication among the moving vehicles with the assistance of nearby roadside units. By using VANET communication, the ITS accomplishes several improvements such as mitigating road traffic congestion, minimize the emissions of toxic and fuel, reducing the emergency vehicle arrival time, road safety enhancement, and infotainment services. The VANET communication alerts the drivers of their traveling environment at the right time and prevents human lives from hazardous situations. Both VANET safety and non-safety applications require enhancing smart vehicular communications with novel ideas.
