The technological developments in artificial intelligence pave more opportunities for the intelligent transportation system. Artificial intelligence has benefited diverse VANET areas like routing, security, applications, resource allocation, hybrid architectures, and mobility management. The artificial intelligence methods are generally categorized into machine learning and deep learning. The machine learning algorithms offer the most powerful learning algorithms with extending capabilities under different environments. However, the machine learning models fail to efficiently work with abundant VANET data, resulting in reduced learning accuracy. Unlike machine learning, the multi-layer infrastructure of deep learning models improves the VANET security performance by deeply analyzing the input data. Moreover, the deep learning artificial intelligence methods perform well than the conventional machine learning models.
