VANET utilizes localization systems for routing safety and non-safety messages. The attackers may employ the location information of users to perform many criminal activities and to launch different types of attacks. One of the main design aspects of the VANET system is location privacy. The location privacy models allow the users to maintain their personal information secretly or only reveal the personal data to legitimate users. It provides temporary identity, keys, and certificates to enjoy the benefits of VANETs and protects the vehicles from malicious activities.
