Abstract:

Financial innovations, economic transformation based on development of the Internet on one side, and the issues of transparency, security, and integrity of data on the other are the most important concerns in digital transformations. Banking industry is passing through metamorphosis as the customer is more digitized. This paper highlights Blockchain technology—the concept, need, architecture, and application in the banking industry. To validate the application of Blockchain technology in the banking industry primary data has been collected through a structured questionnaire to collect the perceptions of the stakeholders. The results confirmed that the new technology is going to provide promising clear and transparent transactions with the Distributed Ledger System.
