Contiki Cooja Simulator Projects in RPL Routing Protocol
Tools Languages:  Contiki-Cooja / Contiki NG simulator, Front End: Java, Back End: C
Software Requirement:  Vmware workstation player, Instant Contiki-3.0
Aim and Objectives:
To develop a project for Addressing the DAO Insider Attack in RPL’s Internet of Things Networks using the contiki-cooja simulator.
Contribution:
1. This project has been proposed to mitigate the effect of DAO insider attacks on the performance of RPL’s IoT networks.
2. The acquired results of simulation experiments have demonstrated the proposed solution-s capacity to mitigate the attack and almost restore the perceived efficiency of RPL in terms of latency, overhead, energy consumption and packet delivery ratio.
Performance Evalution:
To evaluate the effect of the DAO attack on the efficiency of the network and the performance of the proposed mechanism in mitigating that attack. This work conducted experiments using Contiki3.0, a lightweight and open-source operating system designed specifically for low- power resource-constrained IoT devices. This project has considered a uniform distribution in the simulations where 50 nodes are spread in a square area of 100m x100m with ten attacker nodes.
Performance Metrics:
• PDR
• Energy Consumption
• Throughput
• Delay
• Control Packet Overhead
• Execution Time
