Unlike different sectors that people with specific backgrounds get interested in, the healthcare sector has always been the number one priority for all people all over the world. Thus, it has made people from different majors unite in requesting accurate healthcare services. The ever-increasing worldwide demand for early detection of diseases at many screening sites and hospitals had resulted in the need for new research avenues. As of that, researchers have employed deep learning algorithms in the medical industry due to its achieved state-of-art results across various domain’s problems. These methods have emerged as the technique of choice for medical imaging interpretation, which solves previously intractable problems and enhances the performance level. This chapter highlights the primary deep learning techniques relevant to the medical imaging application area and provides fundamental knowledge of deep learning methods. Finally, this chapter ends by specifying the current limitation and future research directions.
