Research in cache management for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) focuses on improving data availability, reducing latency, and optimizing bandwidth usage in decentralized and resource-constrained environments. Recent studies introduce cooperative and adaptive caching strategies that leverage node mobility, data popularity, and trust metrics to enhance cache placement and replacement decisions. Machine learning and fuzzy logic techniques are increasingly applied to predict data access patterns and dynamically adjust caching policies. Energy-efficient and security-aware caching mechanisms are also explored to prevent cache poisoning and maintain data consistency. These innovations collectively enhance data retrieval efficiency, network performance, and overall user experience in MANETs.
