The forensic investigator often encounters legal issues while applying the forensic methodologies in a cloud environment. Owing to the physical inaccessibility of the evidential artifacts in the cloud, acquiring the data from the cloud is a quite difficult task. In addition, physically seizing all the cloud servers is impossible due to the massive amount of hardware involved in the criminal activity, the multi-tenancy, and multi-jurisdiction. Hence, developing the cloud forensics methodology with the considerations of the legal implications is crucial.
