Emergency communication is a type of primary VANET communication in which the emergency messages are timely delivered to the desired destination or group of destinations using any routing mechanism. Some of the VANET emergency applications are accident warning, collision warning, and emergency vehicle preemption. The emergency applications in VANET require stringent delay requirements and reliable data transmissions. The VANET routing protocols prioritize the emergency messages for saving human lives from hazardous situations.
