Recent research in security for service-oriented vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) concentrates on safeguarding the delivery of vehicular services (such as infotainment, cooperative sensing, dynamic routing modules) in highly dynamic vehicular environments by integrating advanced authentication, trust management and anomaly detection mechanisms within service-oriented architectures. These studies often propose lightweight cryptographic and pseudonym-based identity systems tailored for high-mobility service provisioning, as well as blockchain and distributed ledger technologies to enable secure, tamper-resistant service transactions and access control between vehicles, infrastructure, and service providers. At the same time, artificial intelligence and digital-twin frameworks are being applied to detect service misuse or malicious behaviour in real time, while preserving user privacy and ensuring service availability under frequent topology changes and intermittent connectivity. The result is a deeper fusion of service-oriented networking and vehicular security, aimed at enabling trustworthy, resilient, and agile service?delivery platforms in next-generation vehicular ecosystems.
