The multipath routing algorithms simultaneously use multiple routes for successful data transmission. It effectively deals with the frequent link failures in a dynamic VANET environment. It discovers multiple routes among a source and destination during path discovery, resulting in avoiding the route rediscovery process during communication link failures. The multipath routing protocols enhance the path availability with minimum control overhead. Also, it minimizes the end-to-end delay in data transmission by achieving efficient load distribution among multiple paths.
